Furnace installation is complex, multi-stepped, and honestly pretty difficult for the normal person. Unlike normal appliances which can just plug-in and go, furnaces (and air conditioners) should only be installed by HVAC specialists. There are a lot of steps and precautions and preparations that need to be done before the furnace gets to your house, and more needs to be done after too. The safest way to get everything done, and get it done correctly, is by relying on your local HVAC servicer (that’s us, Finish Line Heating & Cooling).
Before the Furnace Comes
There are quite a few steps that you should consider before your furnace is even ordered. One of the most important things is to make a full-scale assessment of all of the things and aspects of your home that may impact your heating situation. Things like the quality of your windows and how old your insulation is, should be considered. Also make sure that the ductwork that you want to use for the furnace is clear and able to get a very good air flow. Most issues with furnace installation come from a lack of preparation before the furnace comes, so be sure to call us before hand for a list of checks that should be done before the installer comes to assess the house. Keeping the line of communication open with us is a huge step in getting high-quality and lasting service—if there is anything that seems usual, it’s better to tell us than just bare through it.
After the Installation
After the installation has been complete, we’ll go over everything that was done with you, and give you a walk-through of your new equipment. You’ll need to make sure that you know how to replace the furnace filter, and you read through the owner’s manual to get the most out of your new furnace. We’ll al make sure to be available for any questions that you have after the process is complete.
